APS America introduces two-inch kiosk printer module

September 16, 2004

CARSON, Calif. - Advanced Printing Systems introduced the KCP 200 Series Kiosk Compact Printer, a complete solution that easily prints, cuts, presents and retracts paper for trouble-free receipts and coupons. This printer ranks among the industry's smallest printing modules. It features a fixable blade cutter presenting system, instead of a mechanical guillotine cutter and presenter which require more maintenance.

Designed for cost-conscious applications like kiosks, ATMs, parking and panel mount printers, the KCP 200 measures 96 mm x 70 mm x 89 mm with no additional space required for paper loop. The printer operates through serial interface via 24V power supply. The print speed of the mechanism is up to 80 mm per second with 203 dpi print resolution. The KCP 200 offers a patented "pinch roller" system to safeguard against end user misuse or problematic external conditions for paper, such as high humidity or electrostatic discharge. A "near end of paper" sensor is available as an option. Windows XP, 2000, NT drivers are available upon request.

An addition to this series, the KCP 300 series (3 inch/80 mm) will be available in the first quarter of 2005.
