Apps ready for 2004 summer games; kiosks to deliver results

ATHENS, Greece -- Schlumberger, the worldwide information technology partner for the Olympic Games, has successfully completed and delivered IT application solutions to Athens 2004, the organizing committee for the Olympic Games.

The software, dubbed Pack4, provides all the elements of the Info Diffusion System (IDS), which will deliver sports results to various audiences via Info 2004 kiosks located throughout Olympic venues.

IDS applications include the Commentator Information System, which pushes real-time event results and other background information to international broadcast commentators, as well as the intranet system that provides similar information on demand to the media, athletes, judges, coaches, sponsors and other attendees via the kiosks.
