AOpen media players powering digital signage, kiosks at Screenmedia Expo

May 15, 2011

This week's Screenmedia Expo in London will include a number of AOpen Digital Engines powering digital signage, kiosk, 3-D, point-of-sale, vending machine and medical applications, according to an announcement from AOpen.

At booth A13 Avnet Embedded will be presenting the latest edition of the AOpen Digital Engine series, the DE35-HD.

The Digital Engine is a small form-factor media player that comes in fan or fanless models. The compact size makes it easy to install behind a display without increasing the space between the wall and the display or to integrate in a kiosk or other specially designed presentation system, AOpen said. The DE35-HD is equipped with the latest AMD Dual-Core G-series processor, display port and USB3.0.

Each and every AOpen Digital Engine has passed shock and vibration operation tests with 40,000 hours of MTBF, 8G operation shock and 0.5Grms operation vibration tests which guarantee their reliability, according to the company. AOpen's Digital Engine series adapts MoDT technology – a technology that requires the machines to be energy saving, ultra silent, space saving and high in performance.
