Anheuser-Busch gains grant for beverage opening tool for vending machines

Anheuser-Busch InBev patented a tool to open beverage cans in vending machines before it exits the machine. It uses hollowing housing with claws to open the tab of the can, according to a press release.

The patent uses an elevator shaft with a mechanism to drive the can upward from the bottom to the top of the shaft while the opening mechanism opens the tab of the can. After the can is opened, it is sent through the elevator shaft to dispense to the customer.
