Sports medicine center reduces patient lines with kiosks

June 28, 2016

The Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center has shortened patient lines since deploying Clearwave check-in kiosks. The practice has been able to reduce the average check-in time to two minutes, according to a press release.

The kiosks integrate with a variety of health care systems, including Allscripts, Athena, Greenway, GE. Andrews Sports Medicine has also used the kiosk's patient message feature to make announcements and offer information about additional services.

According to the release, 30 percent of the practice's patients have taken advantage of Clearwave Express check-in, a feature that allows returning patients to skip certain screens.

"Our patients often come to us with musculoskeletal issues. The last thing they want to have to do is make several trips back and forth to the front desk," said Lisa Warren, CEO of Andrews Sports Medicine. "The Clearwave kiosks eliminate that need and help us get our patients checked in quickly and ready to be seen by our physicians. Both our patients and staff enjoy the benefits that this new workflow provides."

"Andrews Ortho and Sports Medicine has 99.7 percent of their patient volume using the kiosk to perform a paperless check-in," said Gerald White, president and CEO of Clearwave. "This is the highest percentage usage in the country, which is a testament to their focus on providing a world class experience for their patients.",
