CARROLLTON, Texas - AmStar Systems Inc., a Texas self-service financial kiosk manufacturer, announced in a news release the roll-out of 18 of its full-service multi-function ATMs in Colorado at the end of July.
Carole H. Haynes, vice president of sales and marketing for AmStar Systems, said "Â…the AmStar eca$hier financial services kiosks are being placed by an investment group into grocery stores and convenience stores in Colorado. These stores understand the huge business opportunity in becoming the bank for the unbanked. They're very much aware of the millions of unbanked U.S. households and they want to be the first in the next 'gold rush' to pan for their share of the gold."
Haynes continued, "Convenience stores recognize the benefit of being a one-stop shop for financial services for the unbanked millions. They're realizing that they must move beyond being in the beer, soft drinks, and cigarette business. With profit margins dwindling, they are looking excitedly to becoming `the place' where customers can head on payday to cash a paycheck, send a money transfer, purchase a money order, buy a prepaid debit card and then load it with their cash to buy wireless and long distance minutes."
