NEW YORK — AML, a developer and manufacturer of wired and wireless automated data capture products, recently announced the launch of the new KDT750 Price Verification System.
Designed with today's cost-conscious retailer in mind, the new AML KDT750 is a user-friendly, full-feature price verification system that delivers outstanding functional value in a compact, space-saving footprint. Featuring simple touchscreen navigation and a 5.6-inch full VGA color display, the KDT750 allows retailers to display colorful graphics and messages that will engage customers and enhance the shopping experience — right at the point of purchase. Customers can use the AML KDT750 to check prices by simply scanning product bar code labels, freeing store employees for more critical, bottom line activities.
"Retailers are turning more and more to self-service kiosks and data terminals as a cost-effective technology solution to reduce operational and staff costs, while enhancing the overall customer shopping experience," said Mike Kearby, president of AML. "The KDT750 (and other) AML price verification systems can keep customers informed, engaged and on the move … all with an overall higher return-on-investment for retailers."
Equipped primarily to function as a price checker, the AML KDT750 Price Verification System comes standard with an on-board price verification program. Product documentation provides sample source code for the server-side software required to interface to the KDT750, as well as perform the lookups necessary to retrieve price and descriptive information from the user's database. Additional standard features include power-over-Ethernet, user-definable keys, and multiple USB and serial ports. Optional 802.11b/g/n WLAN radio technology supports wireless network connectivity.
The AML KDT750 features a full range of functional accessories and mounting options that allow users to configure the device to fit specific application requirements. Customers can choose from the low-cost 1D CCD barcode scanner or the 2D imaging scan engine for omni-directional scanning. The KDT750 can be fitted with a top-mount magnetic stripe reader (MSR) and configured as a payment kiosk or a time and attendance input device. Or, add the optional side-mount HID proximity card reader for use in access control applications. The KDT750 mounts easily to walls, poles, shelves and tabletops with optional mounting and hardware accessories.
