The American Heart Association will move its Mobile CPR Training Kiosk to Virginia Commonwealth University. The kiosk provides five-minute instructions on how to deliver life-saving CPR to an unresponsive victim, according to a press release.
The kiosk has a video with an introduction, practice session, and test session. It is paired with a practice manikin or rubber torso for the CPR. It provides feedback about the compressions and hand placement.
The kiosk will be set up in the VCP student commons. It was designed through Genworth.
"Cardiac arrest remains a leading cause of death in the United States, and survival depends on immediately receiving CPR from someone nearby," Lewanda Sims-Gallimore, senior director of community involvement at Genworth. "We're so proud to support the state's first CPR kiosk and look forward to seeing the impact it will make on VCU students and staff in the coming months."
