Alabama Air Force base to install prescription kiosks

Patients and their beneficiaries will be able to pick up prescriptions at kiosks at the Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, according to a press release.

The 42nd Medical Group pharmacy will reintroduce its "Q-Flow" kiosks at the Maxwell Medical Treatment Facility.

Once a user checks in by scanning an identification card, the kiosk advises them how long it will take to get their prescription filled.

The kiosk can accommodate called-in prescriptions as well as paper prescriptions. It can also send a text message to the patients when their prescription is ready or if there is a delay.

Once the prescription is ready, users can decide whether to stay and wait or keep their ticket and return later.

The five kiosks will be located near the pharmacy, medical records, immunizations and the Tricare office.
