Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi plans to test a kiosk that can detect if passengers have symptoms of a viral illness, according to a msn.com report. The test will run through May using actual departing passengers and volunteers.
The kiosk can check a passenger's temperature, heart rate and respiratory rate, and can work at check-in kiosks, baggage drops, immigration counters and security checkpoints. If the system detects a passenger may have symptoms, it alerts a staff member to provide additional assessments and management as needed.
