Airline industry expects losses to go even higher

San Francisco Chronicle: According to the head of the world's largest airline industry organization, commercial airlines are on a course to lose billions of dollars again this year. Kiosks and self-service represent a big part of the solution, and an ambitious initiative is underway by the International Air Transport Association to move carriers toward greater use of e-ticketing, shared check-in kiosks and RFID.
