Air India has introduced a mobile check-in facility for its domestic passengers from the six major metros — Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
According to a story published in The Hindu, the facility allows passengers to check in for flights from their web-enabled mobile hand sets by accessing http://flyai.mobi and following the instructions given on the mobile screen.
Only one passenger may check in through a single transaction. Passengers checking bags may also use the mobile check-in, but they must leave their luggage at the dedicated baggage drop-off counter before proceeding to security check and boarding.
The mobile check-in facility will be extended to other stations and international flights in a phased manner, according to the story.
