ActiveLight intros Dynamic Digital Signage Resource Directory

November 21, 2002

SEATTLE,  Wash. -- ActiveLight, Inc., a distributor of plasma displays for dynamic signage, has created a new Dynamic Digital Signage Resource Directory.

Brad Gleeson, ActiveLight founder and president, will introduce the directory at the CAP Ventures'Narrowcasting Conference on Nov. 21 at the Hilton New York. At the conference, Gleeson will also address "The Development of the Digital Signage Market: A Distributor's Perspective."

In a news release, Gleeson said, "Thanks to our vendor-partner NEC Solutions who stepped forward to sponsor the project, and United Entertainment Media who produced the book, we can present the dynamic signage customers and industry pioneers with our first directory."

The 64-page directory is the first edition of a publication ActiveLight plans to reprint annually, with the support of the emerging dynamic signage industry. The directory will also be accessible at the companion website -- www.dynamicsignagedirectory.com -- also created by ActiveLight.

Features of the new directory include a market overview from CAP Ventures, the research firm which produces the annual Narrowcasting Conference that brings together dynamic signage suppliers and customers. Also discussed in the directory are several typical applications such as retail point-of-purchase display, public information, transportation applications and other public-display applications for large-format plasma monitors.

Industry pioneers from NEC, ActiveLight, Mercury Online Solutions and others offer advice on how to choose a signage supplier, which display is best for each application and the importance of content, among other topics.

Most significantly, the directory lists more than 250 dynamic signage integrators, installers, operators, suppliers and content providers.

"We believe that by investing in this new application area, we're not only able to connect ActiveLight and Dynamic Signage in a meaningful way, but we're supporting the legitimacy of the business and thereby helping grow the market for everyone," said Gleeson in the release.
