Five Midwestern states, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin, have agreed to expand electric vehicles to boost economic opportunity and promote energy independence, according to a memorandum recently signed.
The initiative, called REV Midwest. creates a regional framework to accelerate vehicle electrification in the Midwest.
Participating States will remove barriers to electric vehicle adoption through coordination on charging infrastructure optimization, cooperation on best practices to standardize regulatory schemes, communications and charging experience, according to the agreement.
Participating states will maintain a task force of senior leadership from each state.
