Antimicrobial "baked-in" kiosk solution
The antimicrobial additives are directly baked into the glass display at the time of curing. The additives have been tested by independent laboratories to show that after 24 hours of incubation of Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC®6538P), the levels of viable bacteria counts, which were recovered from the coated glass, are significantly reduced in comparison to untreated glass samples, according to the press release.
Howard Technology Solutions' metal kiosk enclosures, using powder-paint additives, are designed to kill or prevent growth of microorganisms over 24 hours of contact. The antimicrobial additives have been proven effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria, including antibiotic-resistant MRSA, E.coli, and VRE, and work to inhibit the growth of mold and mildew.
By combining these two technologies into the line of kiosk enclosures, they provide a 99.4% kill rate on displays and a 99.9% kill rate on the kiosk enclosure itself, according to the company.
