The Apollo Universal Payment Module

The result is a fully EMV compliant, self contained unit that can literally drop into the host machine and start processing transactions, with very little integration being required.

It runs CreditCall’s widely proven EmvXCE EMV transaction processing Kernel and interfaces with the host machine’s controller through a serial link. The online  communications capability - required by the acquiring banks for authorizations in certain circumstances - and for batch settlement of transactions, is achieved through a GPRS modem. Alternatively if the host machine has an existing internet connection, this can be shared with Apollo as a means of external communications. Apollo is directly connected to a choice of EMV Level 1 approved card reader/PIN Pad combinations, and leading manufacturers’ models are supported. PIN and card data encryption is all handled by the reader/PIN Pad combination, with just a simple serial connection being made to the Apollo.
