Wincor Nixdorf updates its automated checkout portfolio

Oct. 22, 2012

At last week's Wincor World event, Wincor Nixdorf's lineup of self-checkout solutions added a few new offerings.

Among the products showcased at the event was the BEETLE /iSCAN EASY Hybrid, a POS solution that can be used as a self-checkout or a traditional POS, without the usual need to make changes or conversions to the system, according to a posting on 4-traders.com.

In addition, the Tower Line 150 was showcased at the fair — as both a self-checkout variant and self-service payment terminal — along with the Tower Line 50, which is aimed at convenience stores due to its smaller footprint, according to 4-traders.

The 360 Scan Portal, a fully automated POS solution with a 360-degree scanner system, was also introduced. It includes a flexible interface for control of the bagging area that can be controlled electronically or by using TPiSCAN's graphical user interface (GUI). Professional use of the fledgling 360-degree scanner technology is becoming more and more of a reality, according to the report.
