Vegas startup secures funding for virtual receptionist tech

WinTech LLC, the creators of virtual ALICE Receptionist technology, today announced that it raised more than $1.7 million in private funding. The company said it intends to use the funds to scale distribution, expand sales efforts, launch the ALICE Cloud Service at the South by Southwest tech conference in early March and to begin expansion into global markets.

ALICE Receptionist's patent-pending process utilizes two-way video communications through a kiosk or flat panel wall-mounted touchscreen. It enables face-to-face conversation between visitors and employees, whether they are located in the same building or across the world. The receptionist can visually see all the lobbies they manage and engage in two-way video conversations with visitors at any office with an ALICE Receptionist system, the announcement said.

"In today's world, where relationships and efficiency can be the difference between business success or failure, ALICE is already receiving rave reviews from its installed users for its ability to welcome visitors, facilitate communications, provide useful directory assistance and make office lobbies more secure," said ALICE developer and WinTech Chief Technical Officer Mike Yoder. "Developed as a new kind of virtual receptionist, ALICE incorporates two-way video communications, voice and video over IP, touchscreens, and mobile connectivity that is easy to install and use at a business-friendly price."
