Tiny guppyPOD photobooth kiosk hits the market

A photobooth kiosk claiming to be the "world's smallest" was endorsed as one of the top technology tools for 2013 by Event Marketer magazine, according to an announcement from the kiosk maker. The guppyPOD photobooth kiosk by event company Catch the Moment is capable of producing hundreds of prints an hour, the company said.

Measuring at 20-by-13 inches, the guppyPOD can print photos taken via smartphone, along with those taken at the kiosk. Both stationary and mobile photos can be pushed to a gallery on Facebook in real-time or after the event is over. The guppyPOD is designed for deployment in environments such as trade shows, corporate events, private parties or retail and restaurant locations, with options to collect consumer data.

"Photo activation is liberated, and a kiosk has done it," said Event Marketer's Ken Briodagh in the press release. "I've been waiting for a solid solution to consumer-generated photo activation for years, and this is the first one I've seen that works. Love."
