Shoppers at Rite Aid stores in New York and Los Angeles will get a dose of glasses-free, holographic 3D videos and images, thanks to the pharmacy chain's multi-year agreement with Provision Interactive Technologies.
Provision announced that 200 Rite Aid stores will deploy their proprietary 3D Rewards Center kiosks. In addition to the 3D holographic images that project in front of the screen, the kiosks feature 2D interactive touchscreens that provide access to wellness information, Rite Aid promotions, rewards, coupons and product samples.
"These kiosks provide convenient access for our wellness-plus members to better maximize the value they can get from our program, providing meaningful savings right at the point of purchase on featured products and services advertised on the ProVision network," said Craig Riner, VP of marketing for Rite Aid. "They also represent another way we are trying to leverage technology in our stores to create a more engaging experience for our customers."
Under the agreement, the first phase of installation of the 3D Rewards Center kiosks will include the integration of Rite Aid's wellness-plus customer loyalty program. This will allow wellness-plus members to access their account details and load digital coupons to their cards for instant savings while in these select Rite Aid stores, the announcement said.
Following the successful integration of wellness-plus in Provision kiosks at the 200 stores, the parties will work cooperatively to implement a phased rollout schedule for additional stores.
