NCR to exhibit convenience store solutions at NACS show

Oct. 8, 2012

At the National Association of Convenience Stores show in Las Vegas this week, NCR will put on display a number of solutions for the quick-stop shopping experience.

NCR will unveil ConvenienceGo (C-Go), a mobile payment application for smartphones. The store-branded smartphone app allows a shopper to make purchases, including fuel, food, car washes and other items, and pay through the app, according to an NCR press release.

NCR will also unveil the NCR SelfServ Checkout Express Convertible, which can operate in both self-checkout and assisted modes, depending on store traffic. The Express Convertible is designed for a smaller convenience-store space and the convenience store shoppers' smaller baskets, the announcement said. The device can stand alone or in line with several others to create a bank of convertible checkouts.

NCR will also display Pulse, a mobile application that delivers actionable, real-time information to a store owner or manager's smart phone or tablet while on- or off-site. NCR will also be displaying other software and hardware products including digital menu boards, POS systems and AMS.

"The main thing shoppers want when they go to a convenience store is a quick shopping experience — some are in an out in as little as two minutes," said Jason Groff, director, petroleum and convenience retail at NCR. "NCR's mobile and self-checkout solutions allow convenience stores to get more customers in and out quickly, exceeding customer expectations for service, speed and convenience in a way that drives brand loyalty and repeat visits."
