A new interactive ATM by NCR gives branch customers at the FirstOntario Credit Union access to services after normal banking hours, according to an NCR announcement.
The APTRA Interactive Teller enables customers to speak live to a remote teller via two-way video conferencing outfitted on the ATMs. The teller guides the customer through typical banking transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments and cash advances through the screen.
"It expands our services and hours of operation, and enhances the functionality at the ATM by allowing members to conduct most of the transactions they would do in the branch right at the ATM screen with a live teller still driving the transaction for the member," said Dave Schurman, executive vice president and COO, FirstOntario, about the Personal Assisted Tellers, or PATs.
The PATs are located at six FirstOntario locations with four other locations slated to receive the ATMs by the end of the year. NCR's APTRA was launched last year in the U.S. and is now available to all Canadian banks that want to offer round-the-clock services to clients, the announcement said.
