Olea's Milan kiosk allows for customization in digital signage (Video)

Dec. 5, 2012

A successful deployment at Bon-Ton department stores was the inspiration behind Olea Kiosk's latest digital signage kiosk solution.

"We had a lot of customers call us and ask about that Bon-Ton design and wanted something like that, but everybody would call and ask for different size monitors," said CEO Frank Olea. "So we came up the concept of this stand being able to incorporate all those different sized monitors … so one design, six different configurations."

Olea showed off the first prototype of the Milan model kiosk recently with a monitor from Elo Touch Solutions, but said the Milan model can house displays from just about any provider, from NEC Display Solutions to Samsung Electronics. The kiosk housing can be set for a range of sizes, running the gamut of 32-, 42-, 46- or 55-inch displays, Olea said.

"The design also incorporates printer options," Olea said, "so we can do three different size receipt printers with up to a full page printer inside of the machine, so it's perfect for wayfinding, directories and things like that."
