ArcaTech releases new PIN pads, check scanner; gets named to SSKA board

• 17 Apr 2008

LAS VEGAS — ArcaTech Systems, supplier of transaction-automation products for the financial, retail and self-service markets, announced during the KioskCom Self Service Expo the addition of two new PIN pads and a high-end check scanner, rounding out the company's suite of kiosk-specific products.

The company's current lineup includes PCI-PED-approved, Interac PIN pads and check scanners that handle multiple documents and allow kiosk owners to capitalize on Check 21/remote capture. The company also provides cash and coin dispensers designed specifically for the kiosk marketplace.

“I believe that the continued growth of the self-service industry depends on manufacturers' ability to provide simple, intuitive solutions to real-world problems,” said Mort O'Sullivan, president of ArcaTech. “We focus on providing technology that enables our customers to develop innovative products.”

The company also announced the appointment of Kirk Nelson, ArcaTech’s OEM sales director, to the Self-Service & Kiosk Association Advisory Board, which also was announced during the expo.

"I’m honored to have been selected to serve on this board,” Nelson said. “Having worked with hundreds of manufacturers around the world, I am excited to be able to bring this broad perspective to the association. With the rapid expansion of self-service devices in our daily lives, this is a very exciting time to be part of this industry."

Nelson joined ArcaTech Systems in 2001 as a project developer. While at ArcaTech, he has helped develop new markets involved with original equipment manufacturers.

In 2005, Nelson became the OEM product manager and currently manages the OEM sales team, vendors and manufacturing partners.
