The (Singapore) Straits Times: If Singapore’s Changi Airport self-service kiosks prove successful, more could be on the way. The airport’s self-service check-in kiosk service is offered by Singapore and Northwest airlines, but the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore may install up to 10 more by the end of March 2009. To encourage implementation of the kiosks across airlines, the authority says it will provide the hardware and cover part of the usage costs. The remaining costs will be shared among the carriers. British Airways, United Airlines, China Airlines, KLM, Air France and Cathay Pacific have shown an interest in providing customers with the self-service option.
