More than 7,000 visitors from 90 countries took in more than 500 exhibits and 70 presentations covering the latest IT solutions and services at Wincor World 2012. The event was held this year at a new locale, the A2 Forum in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, Germany.
"The new site was a first for our trade fair, and the event provided ample confirmation that the A2 Forum is an excellent choice as a location for Wincor World," said company spokesman Andreas Bruck. In previous years, Wincor World was held at the Welle trade show grounds in Paderborn, where the company's headquarters are located.
A focal point of the exhibition was the optimization of cash processes. The company demonstrated how processes for cash handling in banks and retail stores in particular can be designed for both customer-friendliness and efficiency.
The topic of security was also covered in exhibits and presentations discussing the increasing inventiveness of criminal attacks on cash systems and processes and the importance of intelligent networking of information from a variety of sources in order to stay ahead of determined thieves.
Visitors also learned about the newly structured portfolio of the Wincor Nixdorf services division, which offers IT solutions for every phase of a system's lifecycle: installation and commissioning, ensuring availability, and implementing solutions for system operation, including outsourcing operations.
