Socket Mobile, a provider of mobile productivity solutions, is partnering with iPad Enclosures to combine iPad Enclosures' tablet mounts and stands with the Socket Bluetooth Cordless Hand Scanner (CHS) 7X, a small and lightweight portable barcode reader, and the CHS 7Xi, a version of the scanner that has been certified by Apple for the iPad and other iOS devices.
The combined solution makes it practical for businesses to deploy the Apple iPad in both mobile and kiosk-based applications by preventing theft and tampering of the iPad, protecting the iPad during heavy use, and adding commercial-grade rapid and robust 1-D and 2-D barcode scanning capabilities, Tyler Lyon, vice president of product development at iPad Enclosures, said in a company press release.
"Many of our customers in retail, logistics, manufacturing, and other industries require barcode scanning for their mobile operations," Lyon said.
