Mitsubishi Electric announced the release of its narrow bezel, 55-inch monitor (MDT551S). This new addition to its high-end line is designed for video conferencing, gaming, retail kiosks, digital signage and other applications needing robust, long-lasting static or interactive display monitors, the company said.
"Our new narrow bezel monitor makes any display more attractive and vibrant," said Brandon Tarnow, brand manager, Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America Inc. "Mitsubishi has the right size monitor to fit most applications or locations."
The company said installation versatility is engineered into every monitor with inputs ranging from DVI-D, D-Sub 15 and HDMI as well as DisplayPort for video and audio transmission over a single cable. Additionally, the MDT551S features an optional CAT5 receiver and transmitter box. Plus, the monitor uses Mitsubishi's networking software for remote management and RJ45 LAN support so a connected monitor can be controlled from a remote location.
The MDT551s also eliminates cable clutter, Mitsubishi said. The optional CAT5 receiver keeps image quality consistent, even with cable lengths of up to 500 feet. Video and RS-485 serial-control signals can be delivered over the same CAT5 cable so a serial-control cable is unnecessary. Three monitors can be daisy chained as well.
Mitsubishi's new MDT551S monitor even offers optional single- and multitouch screen interactivity. The monitor recognizes up to 36 distinct actuation points, including touch, gesturing, squeezing and pinching.
