The Secure POS Vendor Alliance (SPVA) recently announced five new members, bringing its inaugural year total to nearly 20.
The five new members of the non-profit organization aimed at promoting compliance to payment card security standards and help protect against security breaches, are Elavon; GHL Systems Berhad; ID TECH; Independent Purchasing Cooperative Inc.; and Voltage Security Inc. That brings the SPVA's total membership to 17.
Membership is open to all vendors that develop secure POS payment systems or have products or solutions that interact with secure POS payment devices such as retailers, acquirers and banks.
"We're indeed pleased to be part of the SPVA. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to ensure the highest levels of security and conforming to globally recognized standards," said Jason Phua, GHL Systems' vice president of product marketing and strategic alliances. "It is also vitally important that the aspirations of GHL Systems in the areas of payment security, as well as those of our customers, are represented."
The SVPA was founded by Hypercom, Ingenico S.A. and VeriFone.
