Sixnet's wireless offers connectivity options for retail, financial applications

• 11 Mar 2010

TMCnet reports that Sixnet, which specializes in machine-to-machine networking solutions for industrial and wireless markets, has released a new family of M2M wireless gateways and routers for backup connectivity in retail and financial applications.

The M2M wireless connectivity series brings together enterprise-class management and security, making it suitable for customers that use kiosks, ATMs, point-of-sale terminals, lottery machines, WAN-backup and landline-backup to deploy wireless connectivity solutions.

Sixnet’s M2M wireless gateways and routers are offered as part of the SixView Manager. This allows ongoing management and visibility of multiple devices from a single console.

“Our M2M wireless solutions provide the reliability, ease-of-use and enterprise features that these customers require to support and protect their business,” said Hilton Nicholson, president and CEO of Sixnet. “In addition, SixView Manager reduces costs and complexity across our entire platform by making maintenance and changes to wireless networks fast and easy.”

Sixnet’s ATM Cellular Gateway also supports several ATM processors and eliminates the need for DSL and phone lines, the company says. The Sixnet ATM Internet Gateway supports ATMs, most ATM processors and ATM management software platforms also facilitating installation.

Sixnet’s solutions portfolio includes mobility and M2M wireless networking solutions that suit several industrial and commercial applications. The company also provides rugged industrial wireless gateways and routers for harsh industrial and outdoor environments such as those existing in power substations, water treatment facilities, oil and gas operations, and military and intelligent transportation systems.
